Vanguard E1- A Market First

 

The eagerly awaited Vanguard^™ E1^™ Tibial Bearings are now available, with the first phase of launch underway.

Biomet’s Vanguard^™ knee is the first system to offer a vitamin E stabilised polyethylene, E1^™, which uses an anti-oxidant infusion processing method. This further eliminates failure mechanisms in total knee replacement due to the high degree of cross linking, whilst the inclusion of vitamin E provides oxidation resistance by eliminating free radicals.

 

 

A wide range of constraints will be available, including:
• Cruciate Retaining – 3 deg posterior slope and +/-15 deg internal/external rotation
• Cruciate Retaining Lipped – 0 deg posterior slope and +/-15 deg internal/external rotation
• Anterior Stabilised – 10mm anterior lip and +/- 6 deg internal;/external rotation    
• Posterior Stabilised - 0 deg posterior slope and +/-15 deg internal/external rotation
